The miners were looking for turquoise when they found this lovely red, green, yellow, blue-gray and black stone instead. so wear your Jasper Piece often! See below for a rough image of the stone. Red creek jasper, also called Cherry Creek jasper, is a colorful jasper that was discovered in Mainland China in 2010. Red Jasper is considered a grounding and healing stone. Combining crystals allows you to create the exact healing energy you need in your life right now. The earrings to the right show off more of the green tones. My passion for the array of colors and ‘images’ (yes some seem to have landscape images in them) has not waned one bit! The image to the left shows one of my Gallery Pieces using Red Creek Jasper and Sunstone to bring out the red tones. This type of Jasper stone is grounding and balancing, especially for emotional. The markings and color combinations of Red Creek Jasper are unique to each stone. Cherry red appears in a variety of tones and shades, and it is combined with dark and light gray that appears to have green undertones. During the February 2011 Tucson Gem Show, I was able to find a few pieces and begin my journey to create awesome designs! Each time I attend this show, I purchase more of Red Creek Jasper. Red Creek Jasper is a cherry red and gray stone. Immediately I wanted to see it in person. I read about this stone about 2 1/2 years ago in Jewelry Artist Magazine. The stabilization process does not change the coloring, though. The stone is a little softer than most jasper and so has been stabilized to harden it for use in jewelry. ![]() This gemstone is called Jasper but the jury is still out on this. Muted yellows and sage greens bring this stone right in line. Each piece is virtually different from the next. This is a matte version of our new Red Creek Jasper beads, still as beautiful as the original. I have seen multiple shades of Red/Burgundy, Green, Browns and Yellows. The colors and hues are out of this world. It is name ‘Red Creek’ after the stream that runs through the mining area. Red Creek Jasper was discovered in Northwestern China about 5 years ago.
